To make the most of your playing experience, please read and adhere to these simple rules:
-
No Spamming the Server
- This includes crafting numerous items and just letting them pop out of your inventory and stack on the ground as you explore the map.
- This also includes putting up hundreds of bear traps, land mines, high external walls, or any other barriers in random places on the map.
-
No Foundation Raiding
- Do not foundation wipe a base as a way to raid at any time, but especially if the owner is online. It’s a cheap and dirty tactic and will not be tolerated. Instead, raid the base normally as you work your way through the building and engage in gameplay with online players. This allows the owner to defend themselves just as you would want to do if someone was raiding your base.
- Due to the recent changes that Rust made, raid towers are slightly different. If someone has built a tower next to your base for the sole purpose of raiding, you can raid it as normal or take it down. It will be up to my sole discretion whether the removal of the structure was per server rules if one party claims it is a raid tower and the other claims it was an actual base. If you are building a raid tower, keep to to stone materials or below please.
-
No Griefing
- We know that many people view griefing differently. Some love it, others despise it. On all Juniper Grove Gaming Rust servers, griefing is defined as the following:
- The repeated harassment of players for the purpose of preventing them from playing the game or as an attempt to make them quit the server. This also includes trapping players inside of a base with no way of escape, clearing cupboards and building walls around players, blocking doorways with signs, or any other tactic that forces a player to kill themselves in order to escape.
- We know that many people view griefing differently. Some love it, others despise it. On all Juniper Grove Gaming Rust servers, griefing is defined as the following:
-
No Hacking or Cheating
- We do our best to monitor the server. If you suspect someone of hacking or cheating in any way, please notify us via email or in-game so that we may look into the situation. Anyone found to be hacking or cheating will be banned from the server. Be sure to include a screenshot or proof.
-
No Spamming Chat
- We encourage fun and active conversations among players in-game. Please do not spam the global chat with anything that is not useful or adds to the discussion.
- In addition, since we are a US based server, please keep the chat to English only.
-
No racism, hate speech, bullying, and similar behavior
- We understand that with PvP games things can get a little heated sometimes and that language may get a little foul. That is fine but please do not intentionally harass or bully other players with derogatory remarks.
- We do utilize ChatGuard as a way to monitor the chat. Some words that are inappropriate or not allowed are blocked and will be replaced with a more friendly word if typed in chat.
Examples
-
You log in and see that Player X has killed you and raided your base.
- Allowed: You seek out Player X and raid his/her base in return.
- Allowed: You place a bounty on Player X’s head.
- Not Allowed: You seek out Player X, raid their base, wait for them to rebuild, raid again. Repeat. <– This is griefing.
-
You find a base that hasn’t been raided but has online players inside. You want to see if they have any good loot or maybe you just want to kill some people.
- Allowed: You plan your attack, utilizing the items at your disposal, and start breaking through doors and/or walls. The players actively defend their base (if online). May the best player(s) win.
- Allowed: You watch the doors and windows, sniping the players inside until you can make your raid attempt.
- Not Allowed: Placing C4 on the foundations (or using any other item such as rockets) around the base, reducing it to a pile of rubble and killing the players inside. <– This is foundation raiding.
- Not Allowed: Sitting outside of the same base sniping the players inside for an hour or more, preventing them from playing the game. <– This is griefing.
Players caught breaking the rules or engaging in any of the actions mentioned above will be warned and if the behavior is not corrected, you may be kicked from the server. If you’re found to be hacking or cheating, you will be permanently banned.
Just for transparency, we have the server set up to display when items are spawned in by the admin. If you see the admin spawning stuff in, and it isn’t for an event, please feel free to let us know. The only time admin powers will be used is when player issues need to be resolved. The admin that plays the game has played just like everyone else and has worked to gather any resources for gameplay.
The ONLY playing admin is Jaidis. She is not affiliated with any other players though she may group up with randoms or friends from time to time.
We are not responsible for any items that are lost if the server restarts or your game crashes. As a general rule, we will not replace any lost items.
